Easy WOL (Wake On LAN) 1.3.1

This application allows users to wake up computers and other devices that support the Wake On LAN (WOL) standard. While most modern computers do support this feature, users may need to enable Wake-On-LAN in BIOS and, at times, adjust settings in the network card driver preferences. While the app itself is straightforward, some networking proficiency may be necessary to configure devices, especially if waking devices up over the Internet is involved.

• To wake up a computer within your local network, a user only needs to input the device's MAC address. The app will automatically identify the broadcast IP address for the local WiFi network and send a WOL packet to all devices on that network. It is essential for the iPhone/iPad to be connected to the same local network as the device being woken up.
• Users also have the option to manually specify the target IP address. This step might be necessary if the network router does not support local broadcast, when using VPN, or in similar circumstances.
• To wake up a computer over a wide area network (WAN), users need to provide their router or firewall's external IP/DNS address. Additionally, users must configure their router to forward WOL packets to the local network. Simply forwarding UDP port 9 may not always suffice. Users might have to forward UDP port 9 to their local broadcast address, establish MAC-IP or MAC-ARP reservation, or implement similar configurations. Please note that not all methods function across all routers, and some lower-cost routers may not support these adjustments at all.
